At Divine Shepherd Academy, our Summer Care Program is designed to create lasting memories, encourage personal growth, and provide a fun, faith-filled environment for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. We offer a structured yet engaging summer experience where children can explore their interests, build friendships, and stay active—all while in a safe and nurturing Christian setting.

A Typical Summer Day at Divine Shepherd Academy

Each day is thoughtfully planned to balance structure with exploration, allowing children to learn, play, and grow in a Christ-centered environment.

 6:30 – 8:30 AM | Arrival & Breakfast
Children ease into the morning with a healthy breakfast and supervised free play.

 8:30 – 9:30 AM | Morning Devotion & Group Time
We start each day with prayer, Bible stories, and discussions focused on Christian values like kindness, patience, and integrity.

 9:30 – 11:30 AM | Activity Blocks
Children rotate through a variety of activities designed to keep them engaged and excited:

• Music & Movement – Singing, rhythm activities, and group musical fun.
• Creative Arts – Hands-on projects that allow self-expression through painting, drawing, and crafting.
• Outdoor Play & Group Games – Structured and free-play activities that build teamwork and keep kids active.
• Reading & Academic Enrichment – Age-appropriate activities to maintain learning momentum over the summer.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Lunch & Recess
Children enjoy a nutritious lunch followed by supervised outdoor play.

 12:30 – 1:30 PM | Quiet Time & Reading
Younger children rest, while older students participate in independent reading or quiet group activities.

 1:30 – 3:00 PM | Afternoon Enrichment
We introduce special activities or guest presentations. Week by week children experience a variety of learning experiences.

3:00 – 4:00 PM | Snack & Free Play
Students refuel with an afternoon snack and unwind with games or social time.

 4:00 – 5:30 PM | Group Activities & Pick-Up
The day winds down with group games, creative play, and final activities before parent pick-up.
